Michael Bublé Concert

October 7, 2008. I got tickets to the Michael Bublé Concert as an early birthday gift to my friend Megan. She missed him last time he was in town. The opening act was Naturally 7. Some of the pictures were taken from off the screen, some were zoomed in and a bit blurry. I took over 100 pictures so I picked the ones I liked or thought looked good. I also put together a video of all the clips I took.

Walk from Obesity

September 28, 2008. I made a list of things I wanted to do on Myspace and participating in several walks including Walk from Obesity. It was held at the Carillon Park in Dayton, OH. I had my Lola Lucy and Mrs. Ward (she was my high school teacher/director of Graham Digital Academy) there to walk with me. This is the first time I've done something like this that wasn't through (elementary/middle/high) school. I only did the 1 mile but next time I may do the 3 mile. I'd like to go to the national walk in Washington D.C. I did take a short clip as we were sitting after the walk. It was nice and breezy. Although I didn't take a great clip. I was afraid of filming people. lol

They started off with some dancing/exercising. There's my lola (grandma in Tagalog).

September 4th & 5th, 2008. Bootsie fell asleep on the foot rest of the couch. It was so cute that I had to get a picture. I caught her trying to drink my water or chew the straw. On the 14th of August I was folding these Flu-mist papers for work. She kept wanting to play so I figured I'd scrunch up a ball of paper, throw it and she'll go and play with it. When I threw it she brought it back to me. I was shocked! I could never get Shadow to play fetch. I ended up spending 10 minutes trying to get her to do it again on video. Here's a clip.

Windy

September 14, 2008. Huber Heights, OH. It was really windy. It knocked down several trees. We only had one big pine tree in our front yard which blew over. I believe it also knocked out some peoples power for over a week. A lot of the traffic lights in town were out for a couple days. I have a short clip I took. Someone's car alarm went off.

September 1, 2008 at 9:22AM my sister gave birth to Arianna Grace Shamblin in Troy, OH. She was 7 lbs. and 2 ounces.

I'm a first time aunt!

We were coming back from West Virgina so we missed the birth. We didn't get home until after visiting hours. I went to visit her on the 2nd and took this picture.

September 5, 2008. Huber Heights, OH. My mom and I were babysitting her while my sister worked. I was able to get a picture of her dimples.

Pear Bread

August 27, 2008. My mom got a lot of pears from some guy so I found a recipe online for pear bread that I thought I'd try. It was pretty good although I think zucchini is better.

West Virginia

This one is going to be a little long. It's a small collection of pictures from my trip to WV. August 30th- September 1st, 2008 my dad, Tess, grandpa and I went to West Virginia. I've always wanted to see where my grandpa grew up. It is definitely out in the boonies. I wish I got a picture of these people fixing their homemade bridge. Most of the houses have them which didn't look sturdy but eh I found it interesting.

I took a couple of pictures before we got ready to leave.

I believe this was in Washington Courthouse, OH. I never saw a McCafe and now Troy has one.

In WV now.

We took a longer way through a bunch of small towns. This might be Spencer, WV...not sure.

In Rosedale, WV. My grandpa's hometown which was probably the last time he'll get to go back. He said the building was used to store the bus. I was hoping to get a picture of the house he grew up in but it burnt down years ago and all is left is some concrete stairs leading up a hill to where the house use to be.

There was this huge spider web that just freaked me out.

Grandpa and Tess at the table after dinner. Oh yeah we'd sleep early every night probably because of all the driving around and that there was no tv. The owners said pastures usually come out there to think. I was lucky to get one bar on verizon at times... we found out the morning we were leaving that my sister was in labor.

There was a book where people left comments and someone sketched this. There were people from Ohio, Kentucky and I believe I saw some as far as Oklahoma.

August 31th, 2008.
This was the view from the larger cabin. The view from the smaller cabins were mostly woods.

Driving around Rosedale.

Everyone out there owned a 4-wheeler. I don't blame them it's mostly mountains...it was hard for the car at times to get up to the cabin and the cemeteries.

One of the churches. I believe they said my great grandma (on my grandma's side) got married there to one of the three husbands.

View from the cemetery where my great grandparents are buried. I don't know why the cemeteries have to be on top of the mountains. The other one we went to wasn't as steep.

There was a bench at the Rosedale Community Cemetery that was dedicated to my grandpa's cousin.

This was the barn where my grandpa worked at when he was younger. He said he'd get paid a dollar an hour (or a day...can't remember).

July 2, 2008. Messing with a sparkler. It's so pretty.

From the 3rd-6th Megan, Jon (her then bf, now hubby-to-be) and I went down to Kentucky again. We stayed at her grandparents house down in Somerset and visited her parents in London. We bought our own fireworks which I only have video of (one day post a link to it). I didn't take many pictures. The best one was of the neighbors dog...I forget his name.

July 10, 2008. My dad and I (maybe my uncle went too) went by the fish and game. Don't think we caught anything good.

July 27, 2008. My sister's baby shower at my mom's. I made the cake/cupcakes and she decorated them. The house was packed with Filipinos. They aren't to crazy about playing shower games (there were women/men/kids...it was more of a party). I did have something for my friend and my sister's friend. I bought fabric markers and paint to decorate onesies.

Month of June

5th - Bootsie sleeping on my laptop. My dad lives outside a small village so we've always had stray cats come and go. We've had momma cat for a couple years. This liter of kittens had allergies. My friend Megan and her mom helped show me and my sister how to take care of them and clean their eyes. I talked to my groomer and she suggest fish antibiotics and it worked within a day. I became attached to Bootsie. I had to give her formula because she was the only one still wanting to breast feed (momma would walk away from her everytime) after 8 weeks while the rest were already eating food.

10th- Troy, Ohio. I did some house/dog sitting for my aunt and uncle while them and the kids went to Myrtle Beach for a week. It was a HOT week with no a/c but at least a few nights were cold. Pictured below is Ace and Sugar. It's making me rethink having a large dog. I've always wanted a Husky and now the Newfoundlands look cool, my groomer has one.

12th- My sister made me some cupcakes with whipped icing.

18th - This I had to get a picture of. This has to be the only time Shadow has let Bootsie sleep near him. I think part of the reason is because it was storming and he usually gets all scared and shaky when he sees lightening and hears thunder. Now he snaps and tries to attack her probably because she always tried to play with his tail.

19th - Adorable. You can see what the allergies do to her eyes...all gunky.

20th - Springhill Nursery in Tipp City had a sale so I got one of these to plant at my mom's and one for my friend for helping me with my room. I have no clue what it is but I've only seen it bloom once and it was pretty. I love the color.

June 1, 2008. Most the hardwood put down. Which we now realize was probably a wrong choice. The cat has knocked over so many things and it's nicked the floors and we had some problem with water coming through the floors from the bathroom and furnace area/closet so when you walk near there the floor pops. Too late now but it looks really nice.

Kentucky in May

I figure I'll start where I left off and make my way to more recent pictures. My friend asked me to come along with her to London, KY. I figured why not I'd like to get away (issues with my grandma).

May 5, 2008. We were heading down towards Cincy. It's been maybe over 6 years since I've been out of state. This is the first time I had actually stayed in Kentucky.

The first night we went to a fight with my friend's brother called WarriorFC in Williamsburg, KY.

May 3, 2008. The next day she gave me a tour of the town. Pictured is the Levi Jackson State Park.

We stopped and checked out a car show downtown. I use to be into cars with flames. I have to say this is pretty sweet looking.

She then drove me around to I guess some people call the Millionaire Estates. This was my fav. out of them all.

We were heading to Somerset, KY to visit her grandparents who were down there for the weekend. First she took me through Liberty, KY which I guess is an Amish Community. It was very beautiful and peaceful out there. Along the way there were several closed gas stations. The reason I took this picture was because I thought I'd never see gas this cheap again. When we went down there it was around $3.50 a gallon. I remember when I first started driving...about 6 years ago I'd pay around $1.98 a gallon, sometimes less. I guess I was wrong seeing how gas had recently gone down to $1.36 a gallon. Probably the cheapest I've seen around Huber Heights maybe even cheaper, I just can't remember.

We came across an Earth home. I'd like to have one of those or at least go inside of one.

My friend and I found this interesting that we turned the car around just so I could get a picture. We were basically out in no where...in the mountains.

I thought this was cute.

I've never heard of this place until then. We met up with a friend of hers. I'm assuming it's exactly like a Waffle House though I've never ate there.

May 4, 2008. The next day we went to the flea market near by. I thought this sign was cute. It was in a booth of and old lady who sold things like candles and lamps.

Been a while

I haven't blogged in months. I moved in with my mom in May. A lot has happened since which I just haven't taken the time to post. Besides moving, I've been to Kentucky twice, West Virginia, have a cat and saw Michael Buble in concert. Oh and I'm an Aunt to Arianna Grace Shamblin born on September 1, 2008. As far as photo blogging I can make up for it now.

November 14, 2008 Half of my savings ($1,000) in cash because I owed my dad money and gave back the money I borrowed from my mom along with other things. All but $300 of the rest went to paying off my credit card. So now I only have $300 towards Paris. *tear* I was so close.

Baby kitten likes my money too. I just call her "Baby". She looks like the first cat we had growing up, Crybaby.

I love the big houses in Troy. This building is beside my grandma's apartment building. I believe it's being used as an ELKS lodge. Not sure.

Later that day I took a picture of my new purse. I was just messing with macro to see how much detail it'll capture with no flash and only a parking lot light.

Christiansburg Bank, Drinks & Rain

Feb. 2, 2008 I loved Yoohoo when I was younger. I'd be able to get it in a vending machine for 50 cents a can.

Nov. 16, 2007 Christiansburg, OH. The only bank in town(corner of E.Pike & Main St). The First National bank (opened in 1880) and the Central National Bank (opened in 1906) merged together in 1935 to be the First Central National Bank. The Christiansburg branch didn't open until 1980 and relocated to the building below in 1994. Haha As you can see I find the history of Christiansburg to be interesting.

Feb. 13, 2008 They torn it down.

My dad's birthday. He turned 51 and my sister and I was bored so we made pretzels.

Feb. 22, 2008 Freezing Rain! There's always snow around this time but it's been a while since we've had freezing rain...at least that I can remember. I found it to look cool.

Michigan

Jan. 26, 2008. I went with my dad to pick up his fiancée at the Detroit Metro Airport. We left around 6:30AM and didn't get there until almost 10AM. Along the way I took pictures as we were driving on I-75. It was all pretty much country...not many cars on the road either. That was the first time I've ever been in Michigan. These were all taken from the car.

Not exactly sure what city this was in.

I believe this was going through Toledo.

This is a painting my grandpa did. He was telling his health aid how one day he was watching Bob Ross and thought he could do it and eventually picked it up. This one was given to my dad and it's been sitting in our hall closet for quite a few years.

My grandma use to also paint and draw pictures on t-shirts and sweaters. She'd sign it "The Old Lady".

Another Canon

Today was like Christmas except that I bought everything myself. lol Sooo... last Sunday (the 11th...my 21st b-day. woohoo!) I decided to buy another Canon Powershot since it's been 2 months now and I have no idea what happened to my other camera. I upgraded to a A570IS. This time I will make sure to never let it out of my sight! I also decided to get a Canon Pixma Printer/Scanner just because there was a $50 rebate if I bought a camera. I also got a 4GB memory card (there was a $19 off coupon) so I can take tons of pictures and videos. I love a good deal especially with electronics. If you can't tell... I get all excited about electronics.

This was the first picture I took with the camera. Nothing too great. I was just messing around. The rest was of Shadow.

My new Canon camera got stolen last month so I've been using my dad's camera which is similar to the one I use to have. I'm still pretty upset about it but it's taught me not to trust people so easily. I do plan on buying another when I save up enough money. Anyway, fall is here! I love the cool breezy weather and all the colors.

New Camera

I got myself a new camera with some of the money from graduation. It's a Canon A550. The pictures look so different than the ones with my old camera. It will probably take a while to get use to. I believe my old camera was around 3.2 mpixels and this one is around 7.1 mp. I've been messing around with the effects and getting a feel for it. This is the first decent picture I took with the camera of the field across the street in sephia.

Some kind of flower by the house. I'm surprised how clear (kind of) the bug showed up.

OMG, so freaking cute! I was feeding the cats and I heard little baby meows and I figured it was the two kittens from Pumpkin. I just followed the meows and there were six new baby kittens. Not sure who's it is because none of the cats looked like they had a fat belly. It's the oddest mix of cats. There are 3 black, 2 grey and 1 orange. They are all so adorable. The little grey one with white on it's face kept hissing at me...kinda scared me. lol

April 22, 2007. We stopped by my grandma/pa's after shopping and my aunt, uncle and cousins were there. I threw a mini football with Dallas and I was pretty good at it. Below is a picture of my cousin Hunter. He's so adorable. He peeked his head from the corner of the van smiled, said hello and when I replied back he got shy and hid. I think he's more shy than I was when I was little. Btw, the picture was taken with my cell phone.

Christiansburg, OH. I walked to the bank to deposit my money this morning and of course took my camera with me. I just wish I knew how to resize the pics yet still keep that good resolution look.

I've been saving pocket change to put into savings for my Euro trip (mainly Paris). My lola gave me some of her pennies. My goal is to save $1,400.00. So far I have $96.50 saved up. I have $1,303.50 to go.

I got a digital camera a couple years ago and half the time I take it with me no matter where I go. I love taking pictures. I know they aren't the greatest. So don't expect to see professional looking photos.

Yesterday my dad and I went to visit Jessica (my sister) in Marysville. I guess you could say on our way home we took a scenic route (mostly a lot of farms) until we found the main road we needed to be on. It was nice not seeing a lot of trees cut down and buildings/houses all crowded together. I enjoy driving through the country during the spring and summer...the bad thing is the smell every once in a while...if you know what I mean.

There was a cute little covered wooden bridge which I'm not use to seeing. The pic is crooked cause I took it from inside the car and couldn't really see what I was taking.

Troy, OH. I took a picture of the building in the square where the roof had collapsed because of the snow/ice. There's a pic of shadow chilling as I was driving home with the windows down. Later my dad started a fire so I took a pretty cool pic of it. They have all been resized.
